Joe Broussard, a member of one of the founding families of Jefferson County, joined MehaffyWeber in 1988 and became a shareholder in 1994. He began his practice under the tutelage of the renowned business attorney John L. Bell, Jr. Joe is board certified in Estate Planning and Probate by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and works primarily in Estate Planning, Probate, Corporate, Real Estate, Tax, and Oil and Gas.

Joe received a B.B.A. degree in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana in 1984. He received his law degree from Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas in 1988. He is a certified court ad litem by the State Bar of Texas Professional Development Committee.

Representative Experience
Joe's experience includes work with numerous closely-held and family owned businesses, residential and commercial real estate developments, convenience stores, petroleum fuel jobbers, real estate transactions involving both surface and mineral interests, oil and gas transactions, wills, trusts, estate tax, gift tax and generation skipping tax planning.
Activities
Joe's professional activities have included service on the Guardianship Advisory Board on appointment by the Statutory Probate Courts of Texas and as a director of the Southeast Texas Economic Development Foundation, Inc. He is active in the Beaumont community and recently served as the Chairman of the Diocese of Beaumont Retirement Committee. He is a frequent writer and speaker on various estate planning and tax topics. Joe is active in many community and charitable organizations, including his current position as President of the Neches River Festival, Inc.Memberships and Honors
While at Baylor University School of Law, Joe was active in mock trial and the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
He is a member of the Jefferson County and American Bar Associations, State Bar of Texas, College of the State Bar, Southeast Texas Estate Planning Council, Rotary Club of Beaumont, Texas.
He was selected by Texas Monthly magazine as a "Super Lawyer," 2005-2009.
